Kitchen Valances – How Do I Choose The Style That Is Right For My Home?
When you are searching for the type of kitchen valances you want to use for your own kitchen, one thing you might want to take into account is what kind of personality you would like your kitchen to express.
Some people would like their kitchens to appear as sophisticated and fashionable so these people choose valances that come in solid colors or in designs which reek of elegance. Commonly, they are available in dark colors or are produced with fabrics such as silk, satin and jacquard.
If you want your kitchen to possess an atmosphere of modern confidence, you may want to use materials that aren’t as dark but they are not really that light either. You should use solid coloured fabrics in royal blue, mocha or maybe red to give your kitchen that confident elegance that’s still understated.
For many who aim for kitchen valances that remind them of home and the kitchens that their mother used to create their meals and favorites in, printed and colorful valances tend to be their choices. You’ll find valances that come in floral designs, farm-animal patterns, checkered fruit designs along with other similar designs.
Many people even go for lighter and softer materials to give their frequently too harsh kitchen a softer appearance. Silk taffeta, lace and various other similar fabrics have found themselves used as valances in kitchens which seem too staid and clinical. Some people even use round lace doilies which are cut in half and sewed together to produce delicate valances that add curves to your kitchen windows.
There are a few people who create kitchen valances which are unique and turn into a subject for conversations. One illustration of a unique valance for kitchen curtains is the design of one crafted from various colored pot holders sewn together.
Another possible novel idea for a lovely kitchen valance is the stitching together of delicate, lace edged table napkins. Some people even go so far with their need to have a unique window valance as to have wooden spoons dyed in different colors and hanging them on hooks on a curtain rod and tied together with nylon string.
Any of these and other distinctive tips can be used for producing lovely valances for your kitchen. So roll up your sleeves and begin decorating.

Getting an Insight into Our Chakra System
Chakrology is a term introduced by practitioners of alternative medicine and New Age philosophers to describe the study of the chakra system, the human bodys energy processing centers identified almost four thousand years ago by the Ancient Hindus.
There are seven major energy centers among the several thousands that make up our chakra system. These seven major chakra points are the doorways of energy that we gather from our environment and surroundings (including other individuals) that make up the complete person that we are in terms of spirituality, physical and mental existence as a human being.
The seven major chakra points of the bodys chakra system each possesses a unique purpose which in turn influences a particular feature of our existence. Even if they are separate and independent from each other, they work in mutual assistance of each other to bring about our well being, physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
It is quite remarkable that despite the existence of numerous models of depicting the chakra system, there is one common denominator among all the models used. And that is the energy points correspond to a particular endocrine gland of the human anatomy!
The common representation of our major chakras is a straight ascending line along the spinal column from the base to the top of the head. Modern representations go one step further and assign the primary colors of the color wheel to each of the seven major energy points for a better illustration and to depict particular energy representations as colors symbolize different energy levels as well.
Although the energy points of our chakra system can not be seen, they are considered as extensions or invisible gateways to the endocrine glands that they correspond to. A chakric malfunction whether benign or not, directly affects our endocrinal system and therefore our body. Since they are the gateways of energy to and from our body, any blockages can result in our illness as well and an imbalance of our health.
The seven major chakra points of our body have an integral role in making us what we are ” healthy or unhealthy.
Since the chakra system is the principal processing center for every facet of our self, any interruption, obstruction or dysfunction or fault in the flow of energy in the chakras usually results to illnesses or disorders in our body, mind or spirit. A malfunction of the energy flow through any of the seven major chakras results in a corresponding reaction to specific areas of the body which generally affects the entire individual. The reason for this is because energy fields are generally holistic in nature and can not be separate from its complementary component parts; a malfunction of one affects the others in one way or another.
It is widely accepted that only five of our seven energy centers possess both an active and passive quality. These are the second to the sixth energy centers. Of the seven, the first and seventh energy centers do not have this active/passive quality inherent in the other five. This first and seventh chakra points are the ones that initially receive more energy than others.
It is necessary to understand and be conscious of the functioning of our chakra centers because more energy is channeled through the first and seventh energy centers. With constant exercise of our chakra points, we can manipulate them to send and receive energy equally.

Another Look At Chakra Meditation Therapy
The chakras (the word literally means energy wheels) are lined up along the center line, or meridian, of a person’s body according to ancient Vedic thought.
Certain mystical practitioners even believe the number of these wheels to be fourteen.
These begin at the base of the spine/genitals (root chakra) and extend right up to the top of the head (crown chakra).
In between there are: the orange chakra of the womb or belly; the golden chakra of the solar plexus; the green chakra of the heart; the blue chakra of the throat; and the indigo chakra known as the third eye, on the center of the forehead. The base chakra is red, and the crown chakra is violet right above the head but as its circumference extends outward, away from the head, it turns whiter.
The numbering of these chakras 1 to 7 begins at the base of the spine, which is chakra number one. This numbering coincides with the spectrum along the wavelength of light.
Chakra one controls sexual health, physical strength and vitality
Chakra two rules a person’s creative powers.
Chakra three is responsible for our will power and desires.
Chakra four at the heart commands our emotional energy that opens us up to giving and receiving love.
The fifth chakra is responsible for communicating and is the link between what we feel and what we think.
Chakra six influences a person’s intuition, psychic powers and insights, also referred to as the sixth sense.
The final chakra, number seven located at the crown of the head is what is responsible for our astral voyages.
When people feel they are connecting directly with God, they are focusing the energies of their seventh, purple-white, crown chakra.
The principle behind these chakras or wheels is that in a clean and healthy mind, these wheels will spin freely. And a spinning wheel will emit the most positive and strongest good energies for the person. However, if these wheels cannot spin due to some blockage, the person will experience sickness problems, both mentally and physically amid his or her chakras.
The secret to health is that these chakras should be balanced. In case even one wheel is more active than others, the result can be addictions, neuroses, obsessive-compulsive disorders or unintentional cruelty.
Chakras can become unbalanced or clogged as a result of neglect or bad lifestyle. If your diet is bad, or you have a negative attitude toward sexual relations you will have problems with your first or root/base chakra. This is likely to lead to ill health and broken or difficult relationships.
If you start dabbling in things like black magic or even destructive negative thoughts about other people you are likely to unbalance or clog up the seventh crown chakra which will mean you are unable to connect with the higher cosmos and you are left feeling totally empty and fearful.
A freely spinning energy wheel will be characteristically flexible. The human mind has the power to receive good vibes and ward off bad and negative ones. It is just like a hand, which can open and close when required but if broken, it will not function. Similarly a healthy chakra will open and close as per the vibes it encounters.
Everyone can control his or her chakras. All it requires is a daily exercise to focus in a balanced way on the energies commanded by these seven chakras. At a determined time each day, you will need to meditate by focusing one by one on the energy of the chakras and how it is apparent in your life. You can even visualize the energy of a particular chakra while carrying out this exercise.
Take each major energy category and at some point each day meditate upon how its aspects are manifesting-or not manifesting-in your life, and as you do this visualize your body’s energy residing in that particular chakra. If you find your energy waning in any category, meditate on the steps you can take to make that category healthy and cleanse the related chakra.
Some people find that meditating on a gem stone the same color as the chakra wheel allows them to get a clear image in their mind of what actions they need to take to make it healthier.
Recent advances in audio technology has also made it possible to just listen to the particular frequency of each chakra which results in your own chakra resonating at that same frequency resulting in it automatically becoming balanced.
