Panic Attacks Children
Panic attacks are also common in children just like they are in adults. But they are usually overlooked since the little children fail to communicate with their parents and elders about their problems.
Panic attacks in children are mostly the result of the competitive age of today. The tiny tots are pressurized from a very young age to be the master of all games and the best in every field from studies to games. A little failure leaves them in a flood of tears with parents scolding and punishing them. So, they toil hard to escape the ridicule and criticism from elders and peers. This along with family troubles, fights between parents, rivalry between siblings also becomes the cause of panic attacks in children.
Many children in the fear of being scolded or laughed at try to cover up their fears and anxieties which escalate the situation and adults often fail to realize or misinterpret the symptoms in children. To be sure whether a child is suffering from panic attacks one must look out for:
- Being sad, angry or violent without any particular reason
- Too less or too much sleep
